The location was amazing and marvellous, short walk to the various bays and an older establishment. It also was in the hill overlooking Governor's Bay. I was upgraded to spotless and huge king room with comfy bed...

We had a truly colonial boutique experience at the Otoromiro Hotel in Governors Bay. The location was authentic and lovely, with stunning views and a beautiful colonial veranda. The staff called ahead to inform us of a closed route and were considerate and careful throughout our stay. The rustic feel of the place added to the relaxed atmosphere, and little extras like bathrobes, free wifi, and a sink in the room made us feel comfortable. Despite some minor drawbacks like a shared toilet and a climb to our room, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. I highly recommend this hotel for a unique and memorable stay.

Escape to this charming hotel surrounded by breath-taking scenery. Located on the mountainside, there are lots of stunning spots to check out nearby. Whether you want to explore the village or venture out into the area, there's plenty to see and do. Rooms are well-designed, featuring modern bathrooms with excellent water pressure. The staff provides friendly service that goes above and beyond. The dinner offered is scrumptious, and the drinks menu is extensive. With such a fantastic view, it's hard not to feel relaxed while sipping on a glass of wine on the deck.
While the breakfast is not up to par and limited in options, guests can't deny the stunning beauty of the location.

The location of this hotel is absolutely fantastic with unrivalled views down the harbor towards Lyttelton. The rooms are well worth the extra as we could eat on the balcony instead of the kitchen which is a bit small. The basic amenities are all there, and the staff are very friendly.
The rooms seemed a bit untidy, a bit higglety-pigglety, maybe needs some redesigning there.

The hotel's location is fantastic, with unrivaled views down the harbor towards Lyttelton. The America's Cup bar and restaurant are always busy, which is a testament to their great food and atmosphere. The rooms, although they could have been better with curtains, were comfortable and had direct access to a large balcony.
All was well during our stay at this hotel.

I recently stayed at a charming historic hotel with stunning lake views. The warm welcome from the staff and the delicious food and wine made my stay even more enjoyable. The cozy and comfortable rooms, along with the large verandah, added to the overall charm of the place. I also loved the fact that the continental breakfast was included in the price. Despite a small issue with cleanliness, I would still recommend this unique hotel for a memorable stay.

I recently had a fantastic 1 night stay at a historic building with spectacular garden and location. The staff was accommodating, allowing me to check in early and even upgrading my room. The shared bathroom was no biggie, with ample hot water and great water pressure. The value for money and waking up on the peninsula made it a memorable stay. I highly recommend this hotel for its charm, location, and friendly service.

We had a romantic escape to a hotel with a stunning view of the bay. The rooms were bright and clean, and we enjoyed the vogels toast for breakfast. We were also happy that the hotel provided plant-based milks which is great for vegans like us. The staff was friendly and helpful, which made the stay comfortable.
We had to share a bathroom with other guests. It is not hygienic for a romantic escape.
